WHAT’S NEW:
** The long-awaited Seabourn Odyssey has arrived and Edwina Lonsdale was fortunate to enjoy a sneak preview when the ship was in Venice. With a capacity of 450 guests, passengers will experience the same high levels of food and service for which Seabourn is renowned, and will step to the next level in terms of spacious accommodation. In preparation for its maiden voyage the charm and attention to detail extended by the staff was exemplary. With a contemporary feel, the ship features spacious suites, attractive deck space with plenty of private areas, a choice of dining venues with various styles, and the introduction by the owner, of the innovative Seabourn Square, a focal point of the ship comprising the library, shop and coffee bar, and desks for internet access or to meet with the concierge or shore excursion manager.
Availability exists on a Seabourn Odyssey voyage departing 7 August, 2010 for 7 nights, from Athens to Venice. Cruise only fares from £2,499 per person.
** This Summer Mundy Cruising’s consultant Becky Hughes visited Silversea’s Silver Wind following her recent refit. Changes are evident in the pool area where the position of the staircase has been moved to create more room on deck for special events, together with the introduction of a lift to the top deck. The fitness centre and ocean-view Spa join the new forward facing Observation Lounge on deck 9. Eight new suites have been added on decks seven and eight. All of the rooms are now fitted with flat screen TVs and DVD players. – ideal for taking advantage of in-suite dining opportunities.

Completed in tandem, the refurbishment programme of the two 700-guest, all-suite, all-balcony luxury vessels cost million, the largest investment to date on existing tonnage by RSSC. The public spaces boast elegant new furnishings – carpeting and colour schemes – with gold jewel tones in Signatures; elegant Chablis and Merlot palettes in Compass Rose and soothing colours of sand and sea in the Observation Lounge. The pool area now features an attractive lounge area and a new restaurant has been introduced on board, Prime 7.
Availability exists on a Seven Seas Voyager sailing departing 4 July 2010 for 7 nights, from Copenhagen to Stockholm. Fares are from £2,540 per person with free economy air and free shore excursions (booking deadline 30 September 2009).
