Cruise News, October 2007

The Globe, The World and The Treasures of the Danube
Enclosed is a copy of the October 2007 ‘Cruise News’ from Mundy Cruising - the leading UK specialist in international, quality cruising, tailor-making luxury holidays to suit the needs of the discerning customer. Of the comprehensive travel destination features, ship reports, industry news columns and comment from Mundy’s knowledgeable Managing Director Edwina Lonsdale, content highlights this month include:
** Crystal Cruises Event at London’s Globe Theatre (Cruise News page 3)
Exclusive Mundy events held regularly throughout the year, hosted by Mundy Cruising and a selected cruise line partner, act as an opportunity for clients to discuss their holiday needs face to face, while also reinforcing the Mundy philosophy ‘we take it personally’.
On November 13th Mundy Cruising has organized a very special lunch and presentation in the balcony room at Shakespeare's Globe with deluxe, award-winning line Crystal Cruises. Guests will hear a talk from one of the Globe actors and a 3-course lunch will be followed by a presentation by Crystal Cruises. This is particularly fitting as Crystal Serenity’s World Cruise 2008 will feature a guest lecturer from this unique theatre on her final leg from Rome to Southampton.
Tickets cost £49 per person and are bookable by calling 020 7292 2386
It was earlier in 2007 when Mundy Cruising announced its sponsorship of Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, located on London’s South Bank.
** ‘The World’ – a very special oyster (Cruise News page 7)
Since her launch to the marketplace in 2002, there has been some confusion as to how exactly The World operates. Now, however, things are much clearer – every single unit of accommodation on board is owned by the residents. During the year, they may or may not choose to sublet their apartments, hence the rental programme was born. Rental guests can come on board for 6, 60 or 600 days at a time – paying an inclusive ‘ per unit per night’ price, starting at ,300 (at current exchange rates, £325 per person) and including all meals, drinks and gratuities.
Unlike a traditional cruise ship, The World travels the world at a leisurely pace. On board there are a number of public areas, four very special restaurants, two swimming pools, a Spa operated by the Banyan Tree, a cinema, extensive library and a wide range of sports facilities.
The World is the perfect choice for the sophisticated traveller, who enjoys space, privacy and the opportunity to meet, from time to time, like-minded people in a stylish environment.
** Treasures of The Danube – a Mundy exclusive (Cruise News page 15)
Mundy Cruising has hand-selected this Peter Deilmann Danube, 8-night river voyage in 2008 aboard the five-star MV Casanova. Departing from (and returning to) Passau on Friday, October 17, the itinerary features calls at Vienna and Budapest, Melk and Durnstein.
Adding that tailor-made, special touch, Mundy have also added to the programme a pre-cruise stay and a delightful Mundy Carte Blanche sightseeing tour in the charming Bavarian town of Passau. Fly-cruise fares, including transfers, start from £1,370 per person. Excitingly, single supplements start from just £130 giving an excellent opportunity for the single traveller to enjoy this wonderful region
** Launch of the Queen Victoria – in the grand Cunard tradition (Cruise News page 6)
